Welcome to our Website

The Institute of Tunnelling, Pipeline Construction and Construction Management is part of the Department of Structural Engineering, one of the three institutes of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Over the last three decades, numerous developments and research projects in the field of tunnelling have been initiated by research initiatives. This includes world-leading research work on mechanical and conventional tunnelling, on local transient suspension support for liquid shields, on process simulation for mechanical tunnelling, on the development of an innovative separation process for used bentonite suspensions, on disposal, on resistance to harmful effects in underground traffic, on cost estimation procedures for road tunnels, on concepts and procedures for fire protection upgrading and retrofitting of underground transport structures.
